The overarching concept of this project is based on the architec's, Koichi Takada, original concept 'Paperbark'. To honour the architect, we believe intertwining the Australian nature of 'paperbark' with the Japanese nature of 'zen gardens' offers a sense of respect and harmony between the collaborations of the interior and exterior world.

The palette curated for the hotel lobby reflects the sustainable and noble materials seen in classic Japanese interiors including raked concrete, dark metals, batten screens, soft timbers and natural stone.
